14 fun ideas to repurpose your favourite colouring pages

14 fun ideas to repurpose your favourite colouring pages 🎨

What do you do with all those beautiful works of art when you’re done coloring them?

Well the good news is there are a few fun things you can do to enjoy your work and share it with others.

Perhaps you’ve run out of room on the fridge, or just not wanting to throw out some of your colouring masterpieces. This article explores some practical (and fun) ways that you can share and repurpose your finished colouring book pages.

Because let’s be honest, there are always a handful of finished works that are more special than others, and would be a shame to have them tucked away between the covers of your coloring books.

1. Frame your favourite pages
Take your favourite pages to a printing shop and ask them to make a copy in high resolution, scaled to size of whatever size frame you have. Alternatively, you could simply use the actual page from your colouring book and insert straight in to your frame.

2. Print / blow up your page to canvas
Similar to the above framing concept, only have your favourite pages blown up and printed on a canvas. The beauty of this is you can make copies and print any size. The colours will look amazing and help brighten up any room. And best of all, when your guests compliment the canvas, you can say you created it!

3. Share on social media
Create an Instagram or Pinterest page dedicated to your colouring. You could post shots with before-and-after or just keep as a journal for ideas, inspiration and your favourite colouring pieces. This is also a great way to connect with other like-minded people that colour, or even fans that enjoy seeing your progress. You’ll also pick up techniques, ideas and tips from others, or even offer your own tips to others starting out.

4. Give it to friends or loved ones
Perhaps your friend or neighbour has a favourite work of yours, or your grandkid(s) love dogs or fish. Well, what better way to spread the love than to give them your finished masterpiece for them to enjoy. You could put it in a frame as a gift.

5. Pick your best 12 and turn it into a calendar
What better way to celebrate each month that to appreciate your favourite 12 pages throughout the year. If you take the pages to a printing shop, they will be able to transform your chosen pages to a calendar. Have the calendar showcased on the fridge, or even make copies and give them away as gifts.

6. Transform your coffee mug with colour
Have your works printed on a coffee mug. Make a set or just pick your favourite and decorate it accordingly. You could cover the mug as a collage or just a simple print on each side. There are plenty of printing shops that could do this, or online craft stores like Etsy.

7. Recycle your pages as gift wrapping paper
Talk about the perfect way to recycle. And wouldn’t the parcel look dazzling with colours and patterns (of your work). This could also work for gift bags or gift tags. Cut out your pages and stick them to thicker paper – and leave your note. Or make copies and print straight to thick paper.

8. Turn your colored pages into bookmarks
Another great way to continue admiring your work, or turn in to nifty gifts for friends and family that enjoy reading. Similar to above, cut your pages in to desired shape, or print on to thicker paper. It might be worth laminating the book mark to preserve the colours.

9. Transform your works to anniversary or birthday cards
What a lovely why to recycle your colouring works. With most adult colouring book dimensions A4, this is the perfect size to fold in half and use as a card. If the pages are double-sided, there’s an easy fix to that. Cut a plain A4 piece of paper and stick it/cover the unwanted drawing. Alternatively, get prints or copies made so that way the inside is white. In addition to birthday cards, you can use as postcards (perhaps when we can travel again!) Handy tip, make sure the prints are thick paper to replicate a card.

10. Print on to a t-shirt
Similar to screen printing, get your favourite works printed to a t-shirt. Wear your new tee with pride, knowing it’s been handcrafted by you. You could even print and gift – I’m sure the grandkids would love wearing a colourful unicorn or lion t-shirt!

11. Miniaturise down to a keychain
Take your work with you wherever you go by making them in to a keychain. Use them for your house keys, car keys or give them as gifts. Why not have your house keys linked with one work, and your car keys with another to differentiate.

12. Cover your mobile phone with your work
Get your work printed as a phone case. There are plenty of print shops or kiosk phone stores at shopping centers that offer this service. You may need the artwork as an image, and best to ensure it is a high resolution. If this sounds too complicated, simply take your work to a printing shop and they will be able to help you. Take your favourite work with you wherever you go.

13. Drink beer in style with colourful beer holders
Keep your drink cool and share your work by printing it to beer/can holders. It also makes for a great birthday present, especially if your friend or loved one enjoys a beer or two. And even better if you do, get a whole range printed for yourself!

14. Give your tables some colour with printed coasters
Print your works on to coasters. What better way to protect your tables and continue to admire your favourite works than to print them to coasters. Again, this is a great gift idea. Most printing shops or specialty printing stores provide this service – Esty might also, online.

Hopefully the list of ideas has given you some excitement in knowing your favourite works don’t need to be hidden inside the book covers.

The beautiful thing about colouring is not only the health and wellbeing benefits, but being able to admire your finished work and share it with others.

Happy colouring!
